Time. It's our most valuable resource. It's so damn precious. And I just keep freaking wasting mine. It's terrible. I have excuses, being disabled, being mentally ill, being an insomniac/having a really effed up circadian rhythm ... It goes on and on. I'm letting go of these excuses. There is no excuse for wasting my precious life.
It's just so much easier to sit around and consume rather than be productive myself. To let myself escape from my pains and reality instead of taking control of my life. No more! It's going to be hard and take work, but I'm going to take control of my life. I'm going to start with building a morning ritual. I'm thinking of doing Eben Pagan's Wake Up Productive course, but I need to balance all my learning with a lot more action. Building habits is the only way I'm going to be able to get through my depression and anxiety and keep getting shit done. I'm going to just start and keep adjusting until I find what works for me. I might have to re-read Getting Things Done. MJ Demarco made a pretty cool time tracking/goal/to-do worksheet for Fastlane Insiders that I think I'm going to start using. I just need to buy a printer, which I've need for a long time anyway. Here's to being able to look back on this post and see where I started really turning my life around. Cheers! P.S. What are your best time management and productivity tips? Let me know in the comments. |
