It's 2017!Welcome to 2017, everyone! It's 9 am while I'm writing this and I haven't slept yet. (I'm exhausted, but silly insomnia is rearing its ugly head.) I spent New Year's Eve with my lovely wife and our friend Katya and some of her friends at her NYE party. It was a costume party themed as fantasy creatures from Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. We had a great time and didn't get home until about 5am. I'm really excited about 2017. This is the year we turn it around. I can feel it. I'm ready to work hard to give us a better life. There is a TON to work on like:
Lots to do! These are general, and I need to break them down into specific (SMART) goals, but I'm pretty stoked to get going! What are you changing in 2017? P.S. I love the New Year becuase the whole world celebrates it and it's such a time of optimism.

Yup. My wife and I have been living on a bus for the last 6 months while trying to start getting back on our feet. We are super grateful to her dad who has been letting us stay in his bus (he's a musician who has an entertainer coach for touring) so that we weren't homeless. That said, it hasn't been the best experience. At first I was kind of excited to live on the bus. It's pretty cool. For what it's meant for. Our "bedroom" is a tiny space that has a couch/bed thing that hasn't been kind to my back, or our relationship with her tripping over me to climb out everyday. The bathroom doesn't have a shower or bath and you can only use the toilet to go number 1. Plus, it gets pretty smelly from lack on ventilation. Plus, for about the last month, her dad has had to live on the bus with us and his two cats. His wife is staying with her mom until things get settled. It's been tough times for us and almost everyone we know. But, our bus-dwelling days are almost over! We're moving on to a really old, dilapidated, dirty mobile home! At least that's how it started. I really wish I would have taken pictures of this place before her dad and his friends (and her brother and us a little bit) have been working on it like crazy. It was so effing gross. Just filthy and torn up from the floor up. It's getting better everyday and we're going to be able to move into it soon. We're hoping that this living arrangement will be short so that we can get out of her dad's hair and be in a place of our own.
